Note: Analytics is currently in Beta and will be updated regularly as new improvements are released.
If you notice differences between the figures in the new Analytics and your previous data, it’s because the day of a visit is now based on when the visit started, rather than when it ended. For example, if a visitor comes to your website at 11:05 PM on March 10 and leaves at 12:05 AM on March 11, that visit will now be counted on March 10, the day the session began.
Here is an introduction to the most common settings:
In the right-hand panel, select Date range to open the options menu. From there, you can choose a different time period to view your data. By default, the date range is set to Last 30 days. For a more detailed walkthrough of how date ranges work, see the full guide here.

When you click Add segment, you’ll see a list of predefined segments along with their definitions. You can add a predefined segment to make it your own. Once added, it becomes an editable version that you can update as needed.
Alternatively, you can create a custom segment from scratch.
When creating a new segment, start by entering a title. You can then choose a color by selecting one from the palette or entering a HEX code manually.
Next, decide which date range the segment should use. By default, it matches your main time period.
After that, you’ll see the query builder, where you can define the rules for your segment.
First, choose the metric you want to segment on, select an operator such as greater than or equal to, and enter the value you want to filter by.
You can add multiple rules and choose whether they are connected by AND or OR logic.
You can also group rules together to create more complex segment conditions.
Segments are private to your personal account, and only you can view and edit them.
Except in the Overviews, you can switch between different ways of visualizing your data below each chart. You can view it as a table, bar chart, stacked bar chart, pie chart, line chart, or area chart.
Some chart types include additional options, such as toggling labels or showing the share of total.
Any changes you make to the chart display are only visible to you and will reset when you reload the page. Feel free to experiment, you won’t affect anyone else’s view.
If you’re unsure what a button does, simply hover over it and a tooltip will appear with an explanation.
